Ginger Simpson
In 2002, Ginger sat down at the kitchen table, with her laptop open in front of her, and began telling herself a story.
She has no idea where the inspiration came from, other than the many historical romances she'd read through the years.
But, she couldn't wait to finish each chapter. Ginger's characters told this amazing story as she typed, and the words
took her to new places and showed her grand things. In the end, her first novel, Prairie Peace, was born. In 2003,
Ginger officially became an author. Now she's hooked. Luckily, her husband is her biggest fan and supporter, and encourages
her to continue what she loves.
Cecile and Walt, the characters in Ginger's first book, found a new home with Eternal Press in 2007. Prairie Peace was
released in a new, improved version. "If you hang around the industry long enough, you actually learn new things that make you
a better author." Ginger is happy to say that Sarah's Journey has joined the roster of EP pubbed books, and she's very
excited to see what people think of the twist ending. There probably won't be a middle of the road...readers will either love
or hate it, and Ginger is hoping for the first option. You'll notice that her historical novels all take place in the old west.
Give Ginger a sexy cowboy or Indian any day.
So, now you know Ginger is a 'pantser' not a 'plotter'. Her characters are her inspiration and voice. She never knows where she's
going until she gets there, and so far 'her cast' hasn't failed her. Sarah and Cecile are the feisty, gutsy women Ginger wishes
she could be. She wouldn't mind having either body for a day, that's for sure.
According to Ginger, one of the best things about being an author is the ability to create characters with all the traits you want
them to have. Sometimes, writing is a rush of power, but it's always more like nurturing a child until it's ready to stand on its
own and face the editors. Ginger used to fear them, but now she reveres them. With the help of her Eternal Press editors, any book
she releases is sure to be the best it can be.
